In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic and racial tensions following the murder of George Floyd, Kelsey Parker couldn’t help but notice the racial disparities in the US. According to the Washington Post, in 2020, due to the pandemic, the number of Black business owners was reduced by over 40%. For her, this was alarming, and wanted to do something to spotlight positive things in the Black community while the world’s eyes were on us. Thus, ThinkBlack was born.
